C o m m u n i c a t i o n s
R S 2 3 2 / R S 4 8 5 port supports the industry standard full
duplex ASCII protocol. This allows easy connection to
almost any device with a serial port.
M u l t i - d ro p allows up to 16 SmartMove controllers to
be linked together on an RS485 network.
Comms Arrays provide an efficient way to transfer
data bidirectionally between a MINT™ program running
on SmartMove and a separate user program running
on the host controller. Comms arrays give the serial
port the same functionality as a parallel dual port ram.
C A N b u s is used to communicate to Baldor’s re m o t e
I/O block and operator keypad.
I n p u t / O u t p u t
Eight User Inputs a re read independently or as a
single byte of information. All user inputs may be
c o n f i g u red to generate an interrupt to the MINT
p ro g r a m .
Eight User Outputs can be written to independently,
or as a single byte of information. All user outputs are
o v e r- current protected and a fault condition will
generate an ERROR command to the MINT pro g r a m .
T h ree Analog Inputs can be read as independent 10
bit values.
Remote I/O is connected to the CANbus port and is
simply read from, and written to, using MINT.
